Key Speaker

Dr. Michelle Hayes

Dr. Hayes has enjoyed a successful, twenty-five-year career as an educator and administrator. She has maintained the highest professional performance standards, including a diverse range of teaching and administrative functions, illustrated by her past successes.

In addition to her tenure as a classroom teacher, she is an experienced assistant principal, curriculum supervisor, teacher mentor, substitute teacher trainer, and employee evaluator. She has created professional development plans, data dashboards, board presentations, curriculum plans, and has managed over 100 employees and 850 students. Her portfolio is extensive and its depth is rare for a person of her age.

Dr. Hayes currently develops, presents, and creates professional development workshops on the ACT, social-emotional learning, discipline, classroom management, leadership development, standards-based grading, human resources, assertive discipline, technology, special education, and reading and writing across the curriculum. She has a hands-on education approach with an open-door policy for teachers, students, parents, staff, and the community.

Key Speaker

Kasey Thomas

Kasey is the inaugural Title IX Coordinator at The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Kasey joined UAB Spring 2017. In this role, she oversees the university’s centralized review, investigation, and resolution procedures for reports of sexual misconduct and coordinates the University’s compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and related laws.  

Prior to joining UAB, Kasey served as the Title IX Coordinator and Interim Judicial Affairs Officer at Tuskegee University. She holds a Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law,  a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Xavier University of Louisiana. She is a member of the Alabama State Bar.

Kasey has presented at several national, regional and state conferences on issues in higher education and human resource management.

Lisa Forney

After dedicating 30 years to the field of education, retiring as a public-school administrator.With her expertise and passion, she has been recognized as an award-winning educator, educational consultant, and entrepreneur.

Lisa witnessed the impact of scholarship hunting as she helped her daughter secure over hundred thousand dollars in external scholarships.

This firsthand experience solidified her belief that scholarship hunting should be a family affair.Motivated to share her proven scholarship formula with others, Lisa launched "Formula For Success Group"

Since launching in January 2023, she now serves clients in 14 states and have collectively secured over 1.8 million in scholarship wins.Lisa's mission is clear: to create a better world through service and empowering individuals to access educational opportunities.

Through her initiative, she aims to guide and support families in their pursuit of scholarships, fostering a community where educational success is within reach for all.

Key Speaker

"Coach" Kendric Cook

Kendric Cook has nearly 20 years of experience in recruiting and coaching. He currently coaches football and women’s soccer at Shades Valley High School and serves as an alternative school teacher for Jefferson County Schools. Previously, he was Head Coach at Fultondale High School, rebuilding the program after a tornado struck, and increasing college recruiting visits from none to over 30 schools.

A Mississippi State University graduate, Cook played football for three years and later worked as a student assistant coach. He has also coached at McIntosh, Gadsden City, and Saraland High Schools, as well as the University of West Florida, where he helped the team win a national championship. Cook has coached NFL players like Vic Ballard, Fletcher Cox, and Cordell Flott, along with numerous collegiate athletes.
